Probably quite a simple question but I have a sugine impel chainset where one of the 5 bolts os behind the crank arm. How do you tighten this bolt as I can't get the shimano tool in between the bolt and the arm to stop it spinning while I tighten the allen bolt side. I got it as tight as I could but it came loose during last nights ride so it obviously wasn't tight enough.

Help please !

You shouldn't need a tool. Make sure the 'sleeve' part of the bolt(which you'd use the tool on ) is grease free and also where it sits is also squeaky clean. Once nut starts to initially tighten, tighten further in little 'pulses'. Sleeve should stay put and tighten fully.

I've never had or used a special tool and never had a bolt loosen on me.

Out of interest what length BB axle are you using on those?

My Coda Magics are the same and I've never needed a tool to tighten that bolt.

If you get stuck you can use a flat bladed screwdriver with a 5-6mm wide head just to push against the back of the bolt to help things along.
