Oh no,frame cracked!

Just noticed a crack on the bottom bracket shell of my cannondale. :cry:
Can this be repaired? Or is it a case of ride it till it dies then replace.At the moment it's not affecting anything and bike rides superb.Is it possible to weld a small piece over it without deforming bb shell?

If you ride it, it will most likely die in a big way. Yes it it possible to get it repaired using a custom wrap around the BB. Unfortunately I don't know who does that type of repair in your part of the world.

How old is the frame and are you the original owner? Maybe a replacement frame is worth pursuing??
 
Frame is a 97 model,and I'm not the original owner so warranty claim looks slim. Intrigued by this custom wrap repair, tell me more.
 
On closer inspection this appears to be no more than a surface scratch.With my hi tech instruments,(a magnifying glass and a torch),it's only the surface that is marked.I'm happy again :D
 
I was thinking how strange it was for a crack to start there!...unless you have a lot of heavy landings...... :shock:
