Largest tire for an STS

Different makes of tyres don't measure up the same. It depends where they measure from and to. Surely rim with has a lot to do with it. I had a set of Halo wheels on my Kona when I bought it. They were really wide and made a 2.0 Panaracer Fire XC huge.
Well I'm running a rhyno lite 559x27mm rim, I want to get a set of red tires and though I quite like the 1.95 thats on it now the only red treaded tires I've found are the Michelins at 2.5
If anyone knows of other red tires out there I'd happily buy a set (new or used-not abused) just no amber walls, for some reason Ive always thought they make my rides look cheaper than a huffy.
