How do I find the specs?

Hi All, I'm new here (I have posted in the introductions thread ;) )

I have a '93 GT Tequesta, but as I've had is so long (from new) and I'm very out of touch with what's what in terms of parts, how do I find out the specs of the components on the bike?

I'd like to replace the forks with suspension ones, and replace the handlebars with straight. Plus the seat post needs replacing (it's seized and will be damaged removing it) but I have no idea what to look for (ideally second hand) What do I measure? or does anyone know the sizes, specs etc off the tops of their heads, or knows a good resourse to look at?

TIA

pickle will be the guy to talk to and guess where he lives

i hope GT ownership isnt a lincs thing :? might have to hide from the triple triangle at the leicestershire border

oh and a few of us are going for a bit of a ride around sherwood pines on ( i think ) the 19th . best check for the thread in the rides room

Humble apologies, I just couldnt resist.
Welcome aboard.

Do you plan on keeping it original.

Forks:
But RockShox MAG or Quadra would tend to be the forks to fit. There are others from the 1992 era, Marzochi (sp?) Pace Manitou being the other big names (UK anyway) but MAGs tend to be easier to find.

Rest should be in that link above.

Pickle may not be the font* of all GT knowledge but I think he has all of them in his shed ;)

or fount or fountain, pick you prefered saying.

Not sure really. I don't really know much about these things. Is it anything special, or just another mass produced model?

Thanks for the replies so far, the link above was very helpful.
