For 97 it technically should be 950, but I've found its hard to track some parts down and most people don't list whever its 950, 951, 952 etc. (gets tiring asking too.)
I've settled for a mix of 950 and 951 8 speed stuff, with the odd 952 bit (V brakes). Still after a 950 XTR front deraileur (low clamp, top pull, 31.
if anyone has one.
I don't think people will care too much (or notice) if it ends up with later 9 speed 952 bits on there.
Up front what fork are you going to run on it?
The original orange Bombers with the round pre-load adjusters can also tricky to track down.
