What is the worst product ever produced for MTB/ATB'S

silverclaws

Senior Retro Guru
To me, it was Shimano's M-system brakes

What are others worst ideas?

Why?

(This even might aid those retro crap hunters that might come across something which is retro and different, but because it is different and old, it is not to say it is effective).

i'm going to have to say Manitou forks,

I needed the strip mine down every ride because they filled up with crud/dust and stopped moving, the dust wiper was a terrible excuse for a seal even with boots
or the elastomers split ten jammed up - forks stopped moving, and elastomers went rock hard in winter and you guessed it - stopped moving.

All in all heavy flexy rigid forks

IMHO

this threads been done a few times before... farmer johns tyre, tioga disc drive, odyssy QRs etc etc etc... its a long list!

Why do you say that silverclaws? I always thought it was an effective, though maybe not the prettiest, no-nonsense system.

3 or 4-spoke carbon wheels.

For some reason it looks stunning on a road bike but on a mountainbike.........

What about those solid foam brightly coloured tyres,1 slice with a sharp knife and theyre off
