I particularly loved these bikes because of their paint jobs:

Diamond Back Axis - Pearlescent white with a grey 'Smoke' finish

Saracen Kiliflyer Comp (?) - Satin Black (like brushed glass) finish

Kestrel Carbon - A amazing grey graphite appearance

I went on to buy an Explosif, but not because of its spearmint green/yellow splatter paint job !!

Agree on the Diamond Back

Bikes I really wanted...

Nice idea...

Let me throw in:

Cannondale M2000 1990 (Silver/Blue fade... Mmmm)
Klein Attitude pink/white/green
Ridgeback 601 LX (I blame that article on the Crane brothers)
Marin Eldridge Grade
Any Chas Roberts
Merlin E-Stay
Djernis' Ritchey P20 from Vail 1994

And lusted after and eventually owned: Salsa A La Carte, Bonty OR, Fuquay Logic

my unique 1987 Muddy Fox Courier that i (tastefully) made look (a little but not admitedly not much) like a 1988 Kona Cinder Cone with a bunch of Humbrol enamel paints and the business end of a load of sable brushes.

no, keep meaning to get down there and pick it up and not make it look like i've only popped by to bike lift rather than actually see old friends.
