KONA SPECIALISTS HELP NEEDED

Hi there, was just after some advice on the following:

Is it worth it/possible to doctor the "dog collar" on my kona to accept v-brakes rather than using a clamp on device round the top tube, or using maguras?
which would you guys use?

Quite a popular question

A few people (including me in the past) have simply drilled out the clamp a wee bit to the same diameter of a brake cable ferrule (sp?).
Works a treat.

Yes - it works fine, just drill it out a little to accept one of those "stepped" type ferrules (the ones with a smaller diameter end section).

It helps if you bend the V brake noodle to give a better cable run too.
