weight weenie moment

i bought some scales the other week and had my first weight weenie moment, so i thought id share some weights with you.

my 96 explosif with p2s crossmax and xt is 24.10 lbs - 24.10kg

single speed cindercone with p2s is 23.98 lbs - 10.89 kg

and my voodoo d-jab with modern xt, crossmax, hs33 and carbon parts is 24.70 lbs - 11.29 kg

forks wieght in at

sid 3.08 lbs - 1.39 kg
judy race 3.94 lbs - 1.78 kg
white brothers carbon riged with pace v mounts 1.78 lbs - 0.80 kg :shock:
p2s tb post 94 1.84 lbs - 0.84 kg

i was quite suprised to find that all my bikes weigh very much the same weight. none of them was built with weight in mind but its got me thinking where weight can be saved and its very deciving how the weight is spread.

I know it's off topic but how does the Voodoo compare to the classic Konas both being Joe Murray designed?

Weighing things is a slippery slope! I have pages of spreadsheets to testify to that!

TBH i havent had much time on the voodoo to give it a fair compaison, but they are both relly nice frames to ride. the voodoo felt nice and smooth easy to throw about, its about 1/4 of an inch smaller than the 18" explosif though felt a thouch cramped on road which im not bothed about. i think the geometry is basicly the same. i really need to get out on it more :roll:
