airbrushing

you should start a features forum. Follow the Jez resto journey :?:

If you buy some compressors and stuff, may be interested in renting :D

this seems to be what a lot of these folks use nowadays.
as i said 2 pac stuff is full of nasty chemicals and really you need
breathing apparatus/extractors when spraying with it.
with the waterbased acrylic you don't need thinners for thinning
or cleaning.
mike.

Yeah defos going to do this.

Hey Mikee - would I need a larger paint gun (as in Automotive) to do a frame do you think or would I also need a smaller airbrush for fine detail?

Crikey - Id better do some research....

I use done ages ago and made a right mess of the gun with clogged paint etc. Now Im older and wiser Im sure to make a mess of things...

Ah acrylic then is the way to go. Im used to acrylic paints in my old days of painting warhammer and also canvas painting (sad).

Water based paint is a lot easier to work with I guess and clean up with...

Now I remember that there was a chap on here who did some custom spraying on his RTS's - I think he was a French chap. Anyone know who he is as he would be a wonderful source of information.

my eldest left a load of warhammer paints when he moved out
(before he moved back in) and i sprayed some stuff on a gsxr i built
a couple a years ago, came out okay with "skull white" as a base then
others over the top
as for brushes my small badger air brush is a bit small for big coverage
but i imagine if you splash the cash you'll get a brush that will do big and
fine stuff (interchangeable points)
you could even do a base with spray cans.
but a bit of research might not go amiss
inspired to dig all this stuff out again and create a masterpiece (dahling)

Wow Mikee you sound like you know what your doing.

Now I imagine Warhammer paint or acrylic wouldnt be that strong to hold up to the knocks etc? Again its the base coat and the lacquer I guess that would give it protection.
