How to disassemble Ringle skewers?

Hi all,

Anyone ever taken their Ringle skewers apart completely? I'm contemplating a complete disassembly (if it's possible) so that I can get them re-anodized.

Obviously, the smaler end just screws off, but will the lever side screw off also? I can't do it by hand..

Thanks!

Yep, done that. These blue ti ones used to be silver steel ones. I got them anodised and swopped the axles from some purple ones. Make sure you get the levers polished before anodising so they function nicely. I clamped them tight in a vise and unscrewed the lever end. This broke one of the steel axles, so it can be dodgy, but the ti's undid ok. Use threadlock when you rebuild them.

I did similar with my SS ones (the studding is easy to get hold of / replace).

Put them in the vice, screwed the lever onto the thread (only about 10mm), cut of the peened end of the thread and then unscrewed off the cut end.

I ran a tap down the stainless drum just to clear any burred over material from the peened end.

Used the cut down rear axle for the front, used the front for the seat and replaced the seat axle with new.
