Shimming a front derailleur

I have read something about shimming a front derailleur.
I have a 34,9mm and need a 31,8,..and can not find the right one

is there someone who does this?

edit; is this correct?,..this shim makes the 31,8 front mech fit a 34.9 post,..but i need it the other way around,..or this a misstake from the add? does this replace a part from the mech?,..or shims the tube?
