Front Mechs (Band clamps)

How much lower are the low band compared to the high band version
High band being the conventional one, low band being the one down hidden behind the chainrings.

what does "low band" and "high band" mean?
do you mean top swing and bottom swing front mechs?

Bands

To the extreme, on mine its 2 inches! some of the top swing have the clamp way below the mech forks, some of the bottom swing are way below the clamp. The top swing modern are much more rigid, but also considerably heavier.
