Are there any easy ways to date a Spesh Hardrock? (awaits the "wine it & dine it gags"!)

I've checked the catalogue archive, but no luck there.

Here's the Hardrock (crap pic I know but it's all I have)

Shimano Cantilever brakes
Shimano Acera mechs
Gripshifters

That's all the info I have for now.

Decals should be the best indicator for upper age if you know what I mean and the canti's and headset for lower i.e when did they start to use those decals and when did they phase out canti's and threaded headsets.

Hardrock

Almost impossible by the numbers unless someone has a close matching one and knows the age. Decals, colour and components should do it.
I will have a look at my books and stuff in the morning to see if I can help. I would put it 95 to 98 at a guess.

Saw through the downtube and count the number of rings?

Or alternately my 91 stumpy has the year and month as part of the serial.

Hardrock.

It looks like the 98 model. Just hard to tell by the long shot in the copied brochure I have, with the bike being silver. Up to 96 the decals were the other way round with hardrock being on the downtube. 97 there was no satin/silver and in 99 they had V brakes so my opinion would be 98.
A process of elimination that may be wrong

Hardrock

Well spotted Huntso
I will have a good check and it could be back to the drawing board.
