Question - these are adjustable and can be used on v or cantis. I'm going to use v. direction of adjustment - +ve or -ve.?

I suspect -ve - as long travel low pull per Sheldon Brown, but confirmation would be comforting.
 
i have a pair of these nos in the attic, cant remeber which way you move it but the cable barrel needs to be as far away from the pivot bolt as possible to get vee brakes to feel right.....
