size of brake cable nodule?

Ok just a quickie, when did this change? I bought a set of yellow nos Specialized brake cables from a member on here, but they don't fir any of my bikes!

I'm not fussed about that, but just wondered when this changed, I'm guessing these cables are far older tyhan I had assumed.

Anyway I do remember Mr Bonty putting up a big argument against the older fat lines/cables/ferrules in 91 on some of his bumph that came with the purchase of a bike. So must have been before 90 or even 89.
 
I think you may mean 2mm brake cable rather than the current 1.6mm.

Still on bikes in '91 (have three) but I think shimano started going 1.6mm in '92 so I guess the world followed.

Cables still going strong after all these years and more powerful. No manufacturer would want any thing to last that long :roll:
