Wednesday Night Freezing Baiku.
Not even funny cold. Why am I heading out. No turning back. Go. Stop. Add layer. Go. Stop. Add layer. Go. The puddles on top of the South Downs are actually fozen solid. What a difference a week makes. This time last week these 30mm tyres were lethal on this chalk. Now they're efficient ice breakers. The ruts hardened into mini mountains. Not warming up. Speed up in the hope that'll help. It just gets cold air into the lungs in greater volume. Late for the train, so up natures supercharger and start to feel deep cold. Train delayed. Stand shivering and realise the Lumi's are a good heat source. Switch them on and drop them down my top. Admittedly look odd to fellow passengers as I huddle glowing like the ready brek kid. Start to smell burning gore tex. Eventually get home and am still cold 15hrs later.
