Did anyone do Peaks (or RB XC) ride on a Single speed?

I think I have another project brewing! :LOL: :oops: :cool:

Did you get by with one gear at the Peaks or another Xc retrobike ride?
What gearing did you have?

All the choice of 21 gears put me off! :oops: my excuse, and the lack of good brakes and suspension! :p
 
Myself and ededwards did the 35 mile route on the Real Ale Wobble on singlespeeds. He was 32:16, I think, and I was 34:16. Both bikes we fully rigid, too. I would do it again definitely.

The wobble was so muddy that I'd debate if having gears was any advantage for a good section of it!

Although Orange71, I'm not sure your mate Jeff saw it that way on the singlespeed you supplied to him!
 
Last year did the Lincolshire Wolds Challenge (42 miles of rolling hills) on the ss using 36:16. Also did The Viking Challenge using the same gearing, quite spinny route for the VC though.

Peaks would be tough but do-able - with the right gearing. ;)
