Going in a different direction on my next build. Mavic front and rear mechs. What shifters and brake levers should I go with? What about the Campy "grip shifters?" Are they crap or what?

not crap, just not very good. Campy and Mavic might be an odd combo too...

what bike is it? what period? are you putting any other ano'd stuff on it? 7/8 speed? Vs or cantis?

I use to have a full Campagnolo OR record groupset on one of my steeds, and tried both the bullet shifters and thumbshifters , I must say I thought the 'twist grip' bullets were 'Pants' but the thumbshifters were EXCELLENT .....So go for these ;) IMO

As for brakes.. well the campy ones are nice, but its personal choice, I loved the canti's but there are better out there ...

Sorry. :?

I am thinking about putting this stuff on my Defiant. I'll be running Cantis (have some campy grafton-look-alikes at the moment for it). All early 90's stuff... Syncros revolution, cattle prod, pro post, ti flite, etc.

I have been using XT, M900, XC Pro stuff on my builds and thought I would try these Mavic gear changers on something. Never knew what shifters went best with them, is all. Been wanting to try some twisty shifter, but know nothing about them. Searching has turned up little info.

All apologies.
