How do you cut wires?

Looking to move away from my pliers as a means of cutting brake/gear cables :oops: But don't want to spend lots of cash- any suggestions lads and lassies?

With some cable cutters that I bought years ago. The only thing I've ever found that doesn't fray them.
 
I use quality wire cutters that I got from the electrical 'area' in B&Q; not overly expensive but not bargain basement ;)
 
A quick fix, is to heat the cable (Clipper lighter ;) (or other :LOL: ) ) and then cut, gives a real nice cut, even with the bluntest of cutters.. :)

For many years I used this method with a set of nail clippers from boots, you know the ones with the arm that folds out, but then my mum found out so I bought a set of cheapos from my local bike shop which are still going strong after 20 years!
