Im 6ft1 and can probably do with a larger frame but there is a small dink in the top tube which will probably put you off!

I'm sure you're right.

It's just removing that rear triangle and the pivot bearings etc to get it powder coated that I'm not looking forward to!

as long as not seized it's a piece of cake. 2 allens by the BB shell and one through the centre. That's it. Had mine apart a few years ago with no trouble.

Tried it more recently and the allen bolt through the centre of the pivot was locked tight.

Must try some penetrating on it....

Well may be, I guess it depends on how bad it is. His has a black rear triangle that probably needs painting, so if he is happy with the dent and you are happy to repaint the rear triangle it may work out! Why don't you PM me a picture of the dent so I can show him?

Looking good by the way.

Here is my new acquisition to the Man Cave, been on the look-out for a nice clean one and it was worth waiting as this is one very clean and tidy X1 circa 1996/97 (Frame number makes it August 96 Manufacture date)

Frame - Size Medium
Forks – Rock Shox Judy XC
Headset - Ritchey 1” Threadless
Stem – Orange ‘OX’ SK9 Ahead Stem
Bars – X-Lite G-Force
Shifters – 8 Speed Grip Shifters
Front & Rear Mech – Shimano XT739
V-Brakes & Levers – Shimano XT739
Chainset – Shimano LX
Wheels – Shimano LX Parallax Hubs, FIR Rims with DT Double Butted Spokes
Tyres – Maxis 26 x 2.10
Seatpost – Orange 26.4 Shimmed to 29.8
Saddle – D2 Velo Plush Comfort
Rear Shock – Strata Shock

There will be a few changes but this will be kept pretty much stock :D
