I just saw a post re: [/url]http://www.retrobike.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=41964 88/89 Stumpjumper.
Looks like my Rockhopper Comp. which I'm not sure of the year. Pic. attached.
U-brake, same decal design. I prefer the lurid green!
Someone thought mine was '87, anyone know for certain?

for some reason I have '88 in my mind. Just a gut feeling.

Wasn't it the same model that was used in the old Speccy Earthquake ad?

IIRC its 88, the same year as the Stumpy that had the green rear and pink front.

Yup, 1988.

Lovely colour.

DeNucci Green. Same colour as the 1987 Stumpjumper (which IMO had nicer graphics).

& I do love this bike, but space is short so I may have to hide it in the loft soon.

D'oh! I guess Speccy= Specialized & was that an advert in a magazine?

It was an advert in most MTB mag, etc showing how strong a Speccy was. It featured one that survived an earthquake, etc.

I just slide the wheel back in the dropouts & make sure there's no tight spots. (a fixed/ss chain should't be so tight it causes extra wear) Having a nutted axle helps, clamps up good & tight.
