For the past year I’ve been working on a extension on the house. We used to have a triple length garage that ran the whole length of the house and out the back into our garden but we (I) sacrificed half of it to turn into a new extension on the house. So, in return, I was allowed to go mad in the garage.

This is where we started.

Used large LED lamps so it’s bright. It’s now got double glazing and a heavily insulated door and a huge 6000kw radiator so I’m not going to be cold in winter.
It’s an Ikea kitchen with Sapele wooden worktops. I raise the units an extra 10cm to make it more workshop than kitchen. Laid a rubber floor to conserve heat and save me from cold concrete and gave it a nice coat of washable paint.

Old stuff- 1950s dentist stool, it’s got a flexible joint at the base meaning you can angle it which is great for working on the bike and at the worktop:

Guess where I’ll be spending winter... :xmas-wink:

Re:

Oh man, that is very nice! Love all those details such as the wine rack. Is there any good sound? I would mount some monitors on the wall, and a receiver tucked away somewhere. Great workshop, well done! Thanks for sharing, good inspiration.

 what a great space, certainly looks a hell of a lot better now. Some nice and interesting items you have in there too, on a look out for one of those stools now

I have planning permission for an extension to side and back but the garage has full door at back also, which i would loose, and which is great for access. Still haven't worked out a way around it.

Also really like that window you made, more so when you put a back light on it, very cool

Re:

Wow, some well thought out touches there and It's so tidy  You have shamed me in tidying my workshop today  Chapeau :D

I’ll swap for my house Pete

How are those bike hooks working out? Am looking at some for my hovel

Avoid the ones where the hook folds flat to the wall, many of the eBay cheaper ones, when no bike present if they are closely spaced. It’s a right faff to pull the hook away from the wall whilst trying to lift the bike up and not clatter into the adjacent ones.

Re:

Superb, that is the dream of a man with a 6 x 8 wooden shed!
Also I like that Yeti with the pink cables, you've nailed that one.

Cheers
Matt

Well impressed .... love the stain glass stamp when it’s illuminated it really comes to life

Did you replace the back wall as it’s now cinderblock rather than brick, not a bad thing as the insulation properties are so much better

Super jealous
