whilst I was out in london...riding my Pace RC100 like a deman courier rider, my auction sniper was hard at work.

The sellers limited description describes it as follows:
High spec mountain / off-road bike for sale, originally handbuilt for competition.
20" handbuilt lightweight alloy frame.
Ritchey handlebar
ICON stem
Shimano XTR group set (3x8 speed)
lightweight golden hubs
PACE front forks
Ambrosio CX22 rims
Clip on pedals
etc etc

now then...any idea what it is?

I went for it for the Pace forks & a gamble on any other bits worth utilising elsewhere...hoping the rear mech will be suitable for my RC200.

planning to collect it next weekend.

Update:

I collected this on my way back from Ireland via heathrow.

Serial number is on the BB listed as

BT
0453

Does that mean anything to anyone?

spec wise the rear mech is an M737 XT ... a little miffed, I was hoping for an M900.

The lever/sti units are M900 however.

The cantis are ritchy

The seatpost is positivly huge in diameter..i'll have to check with some verniers.

I'll update with photos tomorrow.

That doesn't look like an Orange frame to me, at least not a standard one. The frame geometry seems wrong. I've never seen that wishbone detail where it intersects the seat tube higher than the top tube on an Orange, it's usually the other way round if anything.
I suppose it could be a custom built frame for an employee or team member because a lot of the other details tend to suggest the big 'O'? :?

Looks a nice bike though, whatever it turns out to be.

Who else (other than Pace!) fit's or fitted Crud Catcher mounts?

Orange

The seat-stay position is a little odd, and maybe suggests it's not an Orange. Merlin sold Rock Lobsters have wishbone stays, do their own brand ones too? As it has a canti-bridge it's gotta be pre-96.
