Manitou 1 Confusion

So, I've wondered for a while now, why do we call these manitou 1's



when a lot the manitou forks in the early mags look like these ones with the longer dropouts



were these are the 1st manitous available , and why do we never see them anymore

I think the ones in the pics were like a prototype .

the one above were the one sold for the public ??

Maybe Tomac didn't sell his forks

original mani (like tomacs above) forks were doug bradbury made. mani 1s (as they;re now known) were made by answer under mani license.

the ones in the pic are bradbury built, not specifically proto, just a LOT rarer than the later answer 1s.

Very nice mate...last original manitou on the bay went for £1,200 for the frameset and front hub alone...

Are you going to build her up...and would there be any problems on the hub front?

so at the time , were these called the manitou 1

or were they only called the 1 after the 2 came out

if you see what i mean

things aren`t normally called the " 1 "

otherwise people would wait for the " 2 " ( new and improved ) version to come out
