Hi Folks,

Quick Q...

Can I remove the shifter indicators on a rapid fire unit like below?

Do you end up with a big hole? :?

Nope don't think you can remove them as they're a part of the top cover of the shifter

Yes you can remove them and yes you are left with a hole.

Bit of Duck tape is the usual method of sealing although one set I had came with a stick on bit of soft plastic for both shifters.

Good tip there, they also make great frame protector patches too especially the clear Park (or discontinued Specialized ones)
Miles better than those Pace carbon things.

Got a feeling some of the latest shifters have a blanking piece should you remove the indicators

Sure would look like that although assuming that's an 8 speed they did those shifters without the indicators
