I'm on the lookout for some Marzocchi suspension forks (Z1/Z2/DH3 etc) and came across this pair of Z2's on eBay which claim to have 150mm travel
I thought Z2's were more like 60-80mm travel depending on year?

What's going on here? How is this possible? Seller says they've had the uppers swapped at some point... with what? Uppers from a set of Monster T's?! :?

I need forks with the brake boss studs intact so these aren't for me, I was curious about the travel change though...

Re:

that's not the travel, that just the stanchion showing. If they went up that far, then the tyre would be in the steerer tube, to 2" or so of it

Re:

Agreed. However, there's still a LOT of stanchion on show, compared to these for example...

My guess is that’s a set of z2 lowers and z1 stanchions. The z1 were 100mm travel and probably longer lowers that would sit higher up the stanchions at rest. They will more likely sit wrongly and only have the 65mm of travel that the lowers allow.

Carl.
