I'm tempted to try, but knowing how wide the clamp area is on the Syncros stems, I'm worried that opening it too far will damage it.
Has anyone tried/failed? I know the tricks to open the clamp, but am I likely to destroy the stem/bars in the process?

i sometimes have trouble fitting straight bars into syncros stems.
