I am trying to make sense of serial numbers on GT Mountain Bikes, not BMX as they seem totally different.
I have researched how to decode these and it appears that there is lots of conflicting information on the web and it seems forums as well so I propose we start a thread here stating only the first 4 digits to try and see where that leads.
It would also be nice to try and identify which factories the codes mean as well so we have some reliable factual information.
Well enough of my waffle here are a couple of mine.
S7CY 1997 Bravado
S7AY 1997 Tequesta
L8F0 1998 Tequesta
SY6B 1996 Karakoram
