'93 Stumpjumper Retro Mod

I rescued this frame last year - a 1993 Specialized Stumpjumper M2 FS.

But I have a problem.

According to online sources, the seatpost size is 27.2mm but it doesn't fit:

This is a 27.2mm seatpost which after serious ramming it only got in 3-4 centimeters.

Thoughts? Could it be a different size? Or maybe the frame shrunk somehow?
 
Try to measure the seat post but it seems to be a 26.8 size.

Sworks 1992 and stumpjumper 1993 was 26.8 acording with some forums.
 
Thanks for pointing that thread to me. Interesting, I have the same problem with the front derailleur - I couldn't figure out the size too.

The seatpost is a 26.8. They're a bit difficult to find. I had to get one for my DeBernardi, and the only one I could find locally was already in in my 93 Stumpjumper.
 
I own a 26.8 Tune starkes stuck in silver, they are not dificult to buy. In my case I ordered it and Tune made it and send me. Now it is unused but you can do the same (price was about 100 euros or a bit more, I don´t remenber ) Cheaper options are Kalloy that still made in this size.
