Apart from cutting it off has anyone got any advice for a free method of crank removal if the threads are goosed on a non drive crank. Crank is scrap but the frame and B.B. are good.

You need something like this:

Re:

If you don't have a puller like the one above you can use a crowbar or large steel lever. Just take the lever with the right hand, put it between the bottom bracket and the crankarm and use the left hand to push and pull the crankarm.
It takes some time but you'll probably get it off this way.
Good luck.

Re:

Thanks for the suggestions.

It’s not a full bike so unfortunately riding it isn’t a option. Nor is spending on a tool as the crank is probably only worth about £15 so I’d just cut it off as it’s toast now anyway. Tried a crowbar , big hammer , ball joint tool , and several other methods. Inc swearing at it a bit. Given up for today but think the dremel will need to Spring into action over the weekend.

Re:

It’s been safely removed. Cut it off in the end which has saved the frame and B.B. which is good. Thanks again everyone
