Gear hubbed 700c ladies bike build

The Mrs wants a bike, a proper ladies bike that is- about town and school run.
It's a bit hilly where we live, so I wanted something simple but with a decent gear range.
What I cant seem to find is 7speed gear hubs on ladies town style bikes. They only come in 3 speed.
Are 8speed hub wheels compatible with these frames???

Also, budget is around the £200 mark. So I was thinking picking up a second hand rear gear hubbed wheel and plonking it on a frame I have stashed in the garage...

Are the Nexus gear hubbed 7speed bikes just exclusive to Pashley? That's all I can seem to find - are there any other gear hubs that are as reliable?

Surely she's worth it go the whole hog and blow your budget. Have a look for a swinnerton built tricycle... She'll love you for it

Hmmmmmm, not really her style and certainly wouldn't like me spending that much on a bike for her...
I might just measure up the frame I have and see if I can get a set of 700c wheels with a nexus hub.
