I know - this is from the for sale thread... But my missus was very happy with the ride on my Pace XCAM recently and I was wondering if this might be a good buy for a bike for her....

But I have questions that maybe need a wider audience as I know nothing about this type of bike.

1) Am I correct that the chameleon refers to it being easily made into a single speed? (not that it matters)
2) What length/travel forks is the geometry made for?
3) What's the weight like?

1. Yep, Chameleon (as in changing to suit it's enviroment) - run it geared, SS, 1x9, rigid, big fork for downhill - anything, up there in the top few frames of all time IMHO.

(speaking as a Chameleon owner! )

2. Depends on the year - older ones up to 120mm or so, latest more like 150 - 160.

3. Around 4 - 4.5lbs.

1. yes
2. this particular frame was optimised for 80-100mm forks, but will run up to 120mm without complaining.
3. Don't know exactly, Its a tough old bike so its not the lightest aluminium frame out there, but it isn't 'heavy'.
