Kona ‘K Mountain Bikes’ downtube logo

Spotted what looked like a ‘93 Cinder Cone yesterday, with one key difference; the downtube logo had the normal Kona ‘K’ followed by MountainBikes and a US flag. I’ve not been able to find much info online, but there are other examples out there. Was this an option, or a territory specific trade mark wrangle? How many are out there?

I have a lavadome with the k mountainbikes logo
Was told by kona vintage dept that it was a germany only thing due to copyright issues with “koga” mt bikes
Im in the US, bought it off of ebay, so evidently brought home by a soldier as it has a oregon bike shop sticker on the downtube but kona says none sold in US

here's mine just unboxed, [bought without a wheel set] though that was a few years ago, still waiting in the que......want to get it powder coated, even had GilM make me up a decal set but I ended up acquiring a complete m73x parts set 730/732 wheelset and I just haven't got the frame to the powder coaters
