anyone know what year this frame is? 96 by the serial number?

just picked this frame up over the holidays, and thought it was pre v-brake but now I am not sure.
serial number on bottom bracket is 96589

it has the canti/v posts AND holes on the left side of swingarm for something, though my google fu is quite lacking as I cant find a decent pic of a disc brake early frame, so as to identify what mount goes there or ??? holes are 25mm center to center

was going to build it with M737 and a 100mm judy hydracoil or marzocchi bomber mx 03, I have both on hand, but the rear brake routing seems to be for a hydraulic hose ala magura or a disc [I don't have any disc wheels or brakes at the moment and really didn't want to buy a whole new groupo anyways] as no cable stop on the swingarm above the brake posts.

I guess v-brakes could use one piece housing all the way to the swingarm?

thanks for any help

douglas

Pretty sure the mounting points were for an adapter rather than a standard sized disk mount.
Found a pic showing similar here: viewtopic.php?t=204835
Lovely frame!

Lovely frame!

thanks, back in the day, I always wanted one of these, wore out my copy of the bike-pro catalog drooling over some of these, so when it popped up I jumped on it......

and that looks like a brace on the canti post as well, I wonder if it was a Foes adapter or generic? my searches have not found anything compatible, no big issue, I think I would rather build it with either v-brakes if its a 96 or maybe magura's, I have never had a set of the hydro rim brakes, so they might be the way to go

I wonder whether those holes have just been drilled in after to fit a home brew adapter.
Magura's would be spot on!

The old AMP forks had 25mm c-c mounts, thread here re: making disk mounts for them viewtopic.php?f=1&t=108600&start=10

Maguras and Judy DH is the way to go, along with Azonic Shorty stem, bars!
What a bike that would be.

yes, I have seen the yellow framed Foes with the v-brakes on a google image search, but cant for the life of me see exactly how the cables are ran [no left side out pics] ......I have seen images of canti's as well, but they show a conflagration of sorts on the swingarm, which suggests the year is def 1996 or later as there is nothing on my swingarm for the cable stop etc......

Flicked through Pinkbike photo album and haven't found you the definative answer but:

This is the earlier version: https://www.google.co.uk/imgres?imgurl= ... mrc&uact=8

This shows the rear disk mount holes as per yours (if you look closely): https://www.pinkbike.com/photo/12134470/

This Weasel shows split outer run with V Brakes: https://www.pinkbike.com/photo/5168041/

Similar disk adapter but on the forks: https://www.pinkbike.com/photo/12134452/

Maguras going through the cable guides (I guess your frame is setup like this: https://www.pinkbike.com/photo/15452304/
And another pic of the above because it's lovely and other than the long stem very good inspiration for you: https://www.pinkbike.com/photo/14936679/

Another with maguras: https://www.pinkbike.com/photo/14296365/
