Brilliant Pace!

Just got back from a trip up to Scarborough at the weekend. Called in to Pace to try and source some parts for a set of forks that I'd recently bought.

The forks are 1995/1996 RC-35 MXCD, non-hydro cartridge, won on eBay for £60. They were in reasonably good condition, so I knew I'd be able to make them mint.

I removed some scratches from the Kevlar legs with T-Cut, then Paintwork Renovator polish, then Autoglym Super Resin polish. For the Alloy bits I used medium and fine finishing pads (like scouring pads) then a tiny amount of Solvol Autosol on a tissue, then a final light rub with a super fine finishing pad. I didn't use wet and dry paper because I didn't want to mirror polish the alloy and lose the CNC finish. This was a very slow and long way of doing it but I'm really pleased with the result!

Adrian and the girls at Pace were great! They couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. I came away with the elastomers, skewer rods and genuine decals that I was after!

The new elastomers are all medium. The four firm elastomers that were in the fork are OK, so I will have some tuning potential.

So now the forks are now almost ready to go back together, but first I'll be buying a full set of Ti bolts and brake bosses.

How much were the stickers as I need some for my forks?

Pace where great when I was rebuilding my RC500.

They even gave me the last decal kit that they had for A RC500 frame set and monster forks.
