Having just paid $338 (£262)for a 1991 GT team avalanche fork, headset, shipping from the USA to the uk and stem (the stem is what i needed as my bike had incorrect stem

I wondered what’s the most paid for that final part to make the build “correct”

And most importantly was it worth it??

eck, it goes that far back now i have no idea. paid good money for alot of things but peanuts for others, rare and easy stuff. think ive bought more stuff just in case and a joblot just for one part thats cost a few hundred quid

The seller wouldn’t split the stem and fork so the fork I will either sell on or swap with the Gt 2x4 fork I have on the bike now as the new one was removed to put a rockshox fork on, so it’s like New.

Many parts over the ten yrs of this site. Logic forks, 1'' ti stem...... all worth it. Even though don't any of it any more. The joy of a hobby

It gets expensive in the road bike world £220 for a set of rims was it worth it ...
