How many different Types of bikes do you have ?

All mine are old school retro CX bikes. I had a cheap hack bike but I ended up not using it. Then I bought a duplicate of my favourite steel bike as a general purpose rider. Someone tried to steal it in Cambridge city when I went for lunch, so I decided to let it go, as it was too valuable to loose. Surprisingly thieves still target old canti style bikes.

So how many different types of bikes do you have and do you really need them ? :?

Retro hardtail, retro full sus, 29er, 650b plus, fat bike, 650b full sus, carbon (summer, i.e. two days a year) road bike and steel (winter, 363 days a year) road bike (disk brakes and full mud guards).

Don't need them all, but life's too short to worry about that. Carbon road bike only used in summer as it's too nice to take out in bad weather, plus deep rims are not much fun in windy weather. Retro full sus (GT STS) I've had from new and only comes out once a year and is more of a garage queen. The rest I use depending on mood, and where and who I'm riding with. Retro hasn't seen much use this year as I'm preferring my modern bikes just now.

Erm.... retro mtb (used a handful of times a year), modern-ish 100mm travel full-sus mtb (used now & then), "Gravel" bike (used the most, on & off road).

Tbh I could live with just the gravel type bike, but I'd really miss the mtb (old or new).
This is the least amount of bikes I've had for several years!

Retro steel MTB, retro Ti MTB, retro steel road, steel 29'er HT (Kona Honzo), alloy 29'er fully (Banshee Prime), so pretty much the whole spectrum except DH.

Did have a retro fs project, modernish 26" ht and drop bar cross bike earlier this year but all have moved on.

Which do I ride? Mostly the 29er. I was initially appalled at how ugly big wheeled bikes looked but they ride well. The steel 853 gets outings as well. Never ridden the road bike (shame) but I will once I get over looking a tool in tight lycra. The ti rigid gets some use, though need to replace a rim. Joey was ridden when I commuted but not for some time now. The rest gather dust which I must rectify, though the RTS team is a keeper.

I have a newish caron road bike, a newish 650b carbon/aluminium FS bike, 4 HT: 2 aluminium, 1 Ti, 1 steel.
All I NEED is road bike and 1 HT.
Road bike is for roading
If Im riding an easy-ish trail I take the Ti HT (not that it can't ride all the trails I ride, just not as good as its my main retro bike (v's, short travel, stretched out geo, great for climbing though)
1 Alu HT is spare bike for loaning or whatever and steel HT is ye oldie retro bike
1 alu HT that is my superbike, when I want to push hard this is the bike, handles great and is so agile
FS bike is comfortable, it's taken a while to get used to and after 2 years I'm only getting to where I push the bike and it's now overall more useful than my alu superbike... but it's still more plow through than finesse a line.

Lets put it this way, all those bikes will be retro at some point, so Retrobikes future should be assured !
