Aero spokes

Re:

Sapim.

Will you actually file/cut slits in a MTB hub yourself like they
did BITD with road hubs?

Re:

Well, if it's to mate a "normal" rim to a "normal" hub that is what is needed to insert the blade of the spoke through the hub flange.

Go for say XTR M900 hubs if you try
rather than some fancy CNC hub which would almost certainly fail.

Re:

That only holds if you use CX spokes, which are 1.3x2.8mm at the aero part.

Sapim CX-Ray, 0.9x2.2, fit any standard hub. They're proper weight weenie gear, too, you'll save ~150g on a wheelset over the stock CX spokes, which as we all know will make you 300% faster.

old school blade spokes needed hub slotting , modern oval shaped ones usually do not , but the performance gains would be minuscule IMO

Re:

Thanks chaps, its just a "look " thing  (but the loss of weight thing appeals)
300% faster? its hardly ridden anyway :D

In that case, 300% faster means 75%* less riding! It's a win/win situation!

* or maybe 66.6. For a mathematician, I'm crap at maths.
