I've built a bike for my 7yr old son and I've fitted a grip shifter, but since fitting it (despite it operating backwards for some unknown reason) I think a thumb shifter will work better for him, in a visual sense, plus I think they're more reliable in terms of shifting accuracy/tuning.
Which ones would you lot recommend?
It's for a 7 speed screw hub type cassette, so I'm hoping some high end retro style shifters would be an option???
What are your thoughts?

I went with Suntour XC Pro for my nephews bike.
I went with a thumbie because he could us his whole hand to shift if his thumb wasn't strong enough to opperate it. Gripshift may be a little large for small hands.
