Advice on a specialized

Yesterday I was at my favorite second hand bike shop and found a mag 21. It was cheap so I picked it up and now I'm on the hunt for a new project. I also came across this hardrock pretty cheap. I know that this was a low end model but I don't know much about specialized. I have a nice set of shimano lx brakes and derailleurs that I can put on it and a handful of other fun parts. What do you think? Is it worth the effort or should I hold out for a stumpjumper?

Re:

This Hardrock will be a nice little project.
I would be tempted to restore it to its original spec.
I imagine it was Acera X, Alivio or Exage. I'm sure loads of people have these old mechs in their masses. It will be a lovely commuter/pub bike.
I would holdout the better gear for a stumpjumper. That's just my opinion.

I decided to pass on this one. Upon further inspection I realized that this has a 1" headset. The mag 21 I picked up is 1&1/8" threadless. This is what happens when I find a part that I like and try to build a bike around it. LOL. I would like to do a Specialized build in the near future. I'll just have to keep an eye out for an early Stumpjumper.
