Re:

Diamondback? Some of their frames had a curved seat stay bridge and seat stays reminiscent of this frame. Not aware of any nickel plated models though.

Re:

If you can get hold of a mid to late nineties mbuk you may see the frame in one of the big shop own brands like Merlin.

Its a Merlin... I have one almost identical but Tange Prestige... mines slightly newer as its Ahead and doesn't have cable stops for cantilevers.. which is annoying as its fitted with cantilevers lol.

Do you want another?

I had no idea Merlin did steel frames.
What would the model be? I have an early Malt1 in alloy Tsomething or other

Re:

When I were a lad there be a shop by the name of Merlin. It produced it's own brand of frames that could be bespoke built to your budget. Somewhat like Orange. They produced, on paper, some decent frames. I remember as a saddo I used to read the ads and they used to change materials. Maybe what was available at the time. On paper decent kit for decent money. How they rode? Can't tell you, I only remember reading one review on the malt series from Merlin and it was good. You can't go too wrong with ritchey tubing and the drop outs are sexy indeed. Build it up and ride it. If you like it, keep it, if not, move it on to someone that will. Pretty light weight for steel iirc. :D
