Mavic headset installation advice

Morning. I've tried fitting a Mavic 317 headset to my bike over the weekend and struggled a little bit. Any tips on fitment and it also appears that they need a slightly longer steerer than a 'normal' headset????

they press fit just like rest. highly recommend the correct tool for that, rather than tapping it in. stack height is 38mm for a 317, so if your previous headset was lower, it could be a problem.

Where is the stack height measured from/to? Overall headset height minus the flange that is pressed into the frame?

Apologies if it appears an obvious question?!?

Please use the correct tools on such a beautiful headset or take it to the LBS :shock: Same with CK headsets, you need the proper Ck bearing insert protectors to prevent the bearings getting crushed during cup installation.
