Alpinestars cromega DX from 91

Now that's retro.

Considering buying it off a mate but before i commit is there anything drasticly bad about them? yeah it probably weighs a tonne but im thinking about a future restoration project.

it looks like it's been covered in hammerite

Cracks , Alpinestars stopped doing bikes because of too many returns .

hmm....

it's history is sketchy. my mate bought it second hand. think i'll steer clear and stick with my gt tequesta single speed project.

the steel version wasnt too bad . is it an e stay ? and a picture might well be interested .

The steel ones are okay, I have a 1992 Cro-Mega DX and love it, commuted to and from work on it every week for four years....the only problem was the alloy stems were prone to cracking, mine did and so did a mates! he had an Al-Mega DX with Shocktech forks and white Porcupine tyres, the height of cool in Thatcham circa 1992-93

Just rebuilding mine up with bits I've got lying around, I'll try and take some photos this weekend...

I bumpt into one today, just parked on a rack. Seems it has been there for a while...still a eyecatcher! Great with all the yellow/silver/pinkbluewhatever graphics!
