Hi all......
Got around to lifting my 91 Diamondback Ascent off the garage wall and have given it a good cleanup.
Suprisingly under the 24 year old grime and mud, it is still in suprisingly good condition and have decided to recommission it.
If anybody here can offer some advice, that would be great....
Firstly would it be possible to fit more modern lighter wheels?. The original Araya RX-7 wheels weigh a ton, and are a bit beat up from some enthusiastic use by a much younger me.
If so what would be good alternative?
Also would it be possible to convert it from the original biopace triple / 7 speed setup to a single chainring / 8 or 9 speed.
This is really a bit of a sentimental exercise so i'm quite happy to spend what it takes to make this old jallopy into a useable modern classic bike.
Thanks in advance for any advice
All the best.
Dave.
