hi all,
just a quick one. picked up a xtr 952 rear mech this morning at car boot £3 but needs jockey wheels replacing. apart from this its in good nick, still has all its rubbers and feels tight still.
can i replace these with any shimano mega 9 wheels or is there a notable difference. thanks already, :) rich

I'm sure their gizzards are ceramic but replacements should fit from the far more ubiquitous XT or Ultegra/ Dura-ace contemporaries?

Seems I could be right

Re: Fitting XTR 9 speed Jockey Wheels TOP or BOTTOM?

Hi Guys

One upon a time I though this was the simplest job ever!!£%^&?

Just bought Shimano XTR pulley set (Y5VW98120) 9speed M952. One pulley is marked 'Bearing' the other has no markings as such but has radial holes in it. Both show direction of rotation so no probs with that.
BUT which one is fitted at the TOP and which one goes at the BOTTOM? I have strong suspicions but they just simply cost too much for that!

PS: the replaced 'starfish' were 10 teeth and 12 teeth! So of no guidance.

Thanks a mil again.
