Anyone know of the length of the spindle for a Shimano BB for Middleburn RS1s?

I'm guessing 122mm but checking before I order just in case its too long? My current 108mm is obviously too close to the stays when trying to mount.

Are you sure?

122.5 (hope ti) was WAAAY too short for both my RS1 and RS2 cranks. I had to get a 130, but a 128 probably would have worked too.

That wasn't on a Pace, but was what I needed for the right chainline.

^^^ that's with the 122.5. Literally nothing between the rings and the chainstay, I think the 130mm only just gave me a 47-48mm chainline, I can check if you want?

Huge q factor on these.

Re:

Cheers for this. I totally agree - massive Q factor on these rs1s. I may simply go for a super wide one then and hope for the best.

Re:

Definitely not 122.5 - typically the one bike I have with RS1's isn't at hand to check!

127mm rings a bell however... ;)

Re:

I thought they used a 118 to 122.5 bottom bracket. That picture above looks like it's rings are too big for the frame given how far the arms are away and it should have CD cranks on it.

Pace only specs 1mm minimum of chainring clearance, as was the norm back then.

Re:

122.5 on my Pace with a Royce bb and RS2 cranks.

Made the [possibly incorrect] assumption that RS1 would be the same.

Maybe I'm wrong...

This has got me thinking now...

I'll check tomorrow Jez, apologies if I've given you duff info - it may actually be a 127.5 I fitted, not a 122.5...
