Which wheelset is more desirable?

Mavic MA40mb with FH/HB 730 and Nokian AWS 26x2

or...

Sun Rims CR17A with FH/HB 737 and Kenda Kwest 26x1.5

If there is no clear victor, which combination would TKO?

MA40's are still the only wheel rims that made me cry when mounting a non - folding tyre :x

They do look ace though. I guess the build will dictate as CR17's are a bit younger? What bike are they going onto?
 
Yeah, the bike they are for is quite important from a retro perspective.
I've had a couple of sets of wheels with MA40 rims and I wouldn't get then again because as already mentioned they are usually a pain in the ASS to get tyres on or off.
If you like the grey anodized look then try the Mavic M231CD or 217SUP.

Personally I'd go with the Sun CR17/M737 combo.

The Sun/737 combo just shades it for me but as has been mentioned already that's without knowing the rest of the bike's details. I can't even decide which wheels to put on my own bikes :facepalm: :oops:

Both good, entirely dictated by age of the bike, any later that 91 and the ma40 is done imo, sunn/737 94 on?

Or if it's a rider and you're not fussed about being period correct go with the sunn/737 as they are better wheels, better sealed hubs and the rims are more friendly to brake set up and tyre shape/fit.
