Quite marvellous. A frame from when peeps could be bothered to fill and smooth fillet welds.
Cant go wrong with xtr and kmc x9sl chain.
Couple of observation. Not conventional to hold bike by saddle nose in stand and by the amount of visible seatpost, frame is one size too big.
Oh, if you are interested, i have pair of virtually new Giant branded tyres i can swap for your rocket rons.

Glad you like it. It's been a challenge getting everything working together as I wanted to keep my thumbies and 8 speed rather than 9. The front mech was another challenge as it needed to fit a slightly larger seat tube than the bracket was designed for but the dremel fixed that. Everything's running lovely. Next move is to go tubeless and find some goretex brake and gear cables. This bike will get plenty of use as I need to loose some weight

If seatpost is aluminium then a pipe cutter will do a neater job without leaving burrs on the outside. If using hacksaw, fit jubilee clip to act as a guide., then use file to put small chamfer on outside edge, avoids scratching the seat tube which then avoids scratching the post.
Oh, and allow at least 100 mm of post inside the seat tube. Make sure saddle is at correct height.
You can drill large hole at base of post, like what specialized do.
