Newbie Alert!

Hi There

I'm Charlie from Edinburgh, my husband just gave me an old aplinestars frame to be getting along with, he got it around 9 years ago i think second hand. His memory isnt quite what it used to be lol!

Its an alpinestars frame, frame number P11600092 and looking inside the head-tube is the orginal colour of luminous yellow!!!

Could anyone identify the model? I dont think its super-rare but just checking cos i'd hate to bastardise something!

I'm pretty new to bikes! but a good mechnic (i have a lovely retro mini cooper)

I'm gonna restore it, as i love all things retro, and love the look of it! BUT at the same time i also feel that things are there to be used! i've managed to get a headset reducer for it...etc so hopefully will be riding it

So going to be picking a few brains!

is it aluminium or steel? a picture would help!

If it is yellow it is an Al Mega , probably Dx as they were the most populars .

probably craked as well , like all alu alpinestars .

Has it got elevated chainstays? or is it older than that... I had a steel Alpinestars with a conventional double diamond frame, felt like it was built out of scafold pole, but they also did the really small single tube things (simliar-ish shape to trimbles and s-bike)

mine was Luminous yellow and white.
